HP Byron Nelson Championship KidsZone to Feature Story Time with PGA TOUR Players and Wives

Free admission, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 21

Irving, Texas, May 19, 2010 – HP Byron Nelson Championship officials have announced that PGA TOUR Players and wives will read children’s books in KidsZone, a family-oriented and free venue. Story Time will be on Friday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Story Time in KidsZone is part of a new PGA TOUR Wives Association campaign, Operation Literacy, which was created to bring awareness to the importance of literacy in youth.

“The number of children who lack the basic reading skills that are the foundation for future success is staggering,” said Athena Perez, chairman of the Operation Literacy initiative for the PGA TOUR Wives Association. “It is our hope that this program will bring awareness to the importance of literacy and our youth. More importantly, we hope to encourage children to continue their pursuit of reading and critical thinking and celebrate their scholastic achievements.”

The 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 17-23 at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving.
