It’s time for “Argyle Out” at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. Fans and players alike are encouraged to wear argyle during Friday’s second round in support of the tournament. Participating spectators will have chances to win upgraded tickets and prizes.

HP Byron Nelson Championship Goes Green

HP Byron Nelson Championship officials will implement new and continued green initiatives during the 2011 tournament, with featured programs by HP and Coca-Cola.

• HP is offering a discount coupon on HP merchandise to any spectator who recycles his or her electronic waste at the Championship. A recycling container will be in the general public parking lot, which is located at the site of the former Texas Stadium red lot. Acceptable e-waste items include: monitors, whole and complete computers, cell phones, laptops, printers, speakers, keyboards, mice, PDAs, radios, stereos, MP3 players, DVD/CD players and VCRs.
• Coca-Cola will display a Reimagine Recycling Showcase (RRS) on Champions Way, which is a mobile recycling station that allows spectators to participate in the process of recycling and learn about its value through interactive displays and games. The RRS will be exhibited on Champions Way near the Pavilion. Championship officials will use a large scale version of the RRS to recycle 80% of their waste during the tournament.
• The 2011 media guide will not be printed, and is instead hosted by digital publisher Issuu and embedded on the Championship’s website.
• Recycled mulch will be used in decorative areas.

HP Gives Back

HP Gives BackThey came! They painted walls. They planted flowers and trees. They packed school supply bags. They archived historic photos. They created beautiful artwork.

Who are these good people? They’re the over 70 HP employees who arrived at the Oak Cliff campus of Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers (SCYFC) this morning to volunteer for the annual “HP Gives Back.”

The event has become a tradition during tournament week, one that Salesmanship Club employees deeply appreciate. “Their labor speaks volumes about the deep commitment that HP has to our work with at-risk kids and families,” commented Delane Kinney, executive director of SCYFC. “In just one morning, this group made huge improvements from one end of our campus to the other.”

Proof that HP truly makes a lasting impression!
