Child Age 7+
Your child is growing up!
And with each new stage of development, he or she is showing evidence of change and signs of maturity…. yet is still a long way away from adulthood. How does a parent keep pace?
Parents and caregivers call Salesmanship Club for many different reasons. For example, when they might be:
- Seeing troublesome behavior changes
- Worried that their child’s behavior isn’t appropriate for school
- Concerned that their own relationship with their child needs to be strengthened
- Unsure how to respond to their child’s anger or rage
- Wondering why their child doesn’t have any close friends
- Worried about their child’s choice of friends
- Tired of the sibling rivalry
- Anxious about their child’s transition to adulthood
- Concerned that problems in the family are negatively impacting their child
Based on information gathered during a comprehensive intake interview, our staff will refer each family to the service that best responds to the child’s needs. This may include:
- Therapy – Through discussions with a licensed therapist, participating family members learn better ways to interact with each other, resolve conflicts, address specific issues and seek a brighter future. For families that are feeling distant, disconnected or torn apart, therapy may be a great first step toward change.
- Treatment Groups – As the name implies, instead of meeting privately with a therapist, treatment groups bring different families together to discuss their challenges.
- Parent Education – Kids don’t come with an instruction manual, but participants in Parent Education classes receive plenty of practical advice. We encourage moms, dads, and caregivers to attend one of the many specialized classes we offer.
- Assessment – When one or more of the above options have not resulted in a family’s ability to move toward a better future, Salesmanship Club staff and the family may together opt for an assessment to better understand the cognitive, social or emotional challenges a child may be experiencing.
